Obama and Clinton
I am not an American nor even want to be one. But I have been following American politic a bit because America is a big influential country the world in many various way, especially, the Bush administration. They did lots of things that I personally cannot take.
Yesterday, there was a quite important event in the American politic. That is the selection of the nomination for the presidential election of the Democrat party. Barack has wont the bid for the nomination over the ex-first lady Hillary Clinton. Since both of them represent what consider to be minorities in America which are women and black, loosing the bid can (and always) be seen as a lost of the minority that candidate is representing. It will be either Americans are not ready for a female leader or a coloured leader. This is somewhat hiding the real issues of the bid. Snt. Obama said that he represent a working class and said that American needs changes while Snt. Clinton saids that she have been around and knows the ways things go in Washinton.
As I said that I follow this only loosly so I may not be in the best position to say who should be a winner here. But, as I can see, I think Obama deserve to win here. He is very focus on the real issue here. Changes from Bush is what I think American needs here. Also, when he got a personal attack, Snt. Obama response was mature and appropriate. He simply said “Not this time”. In contrast, Snt. Clinton’s reaction was not very good, she use the -ist word to reply to that attack. As for the realy issue, I don’t think that promoting the past glory of her hustband’s administraction is not more interesting that “changes” from Bush that Obama propose.
All in all, I am quite happy with the result. Obama was charismatic. He is more focus. He does not care and do not use the old dirty personal attact. And the most importantly, he propose chagnes we (both American and others) need for better world. Moreover, I hope that those who disappoint with the defeat of the Clinton thinking that the problem is that she is a women will not forget the real issue America is facing (and the issues that affecting other part of the world). I hope that they will continue to support Democrat party, which I think, has better overall policy than the Republican.
